Bhagwan Mahavir National Park:
The only national park in Goa, is home to 15 species of Western Ghat endemic birds. The National park also has about 33 mammal species.
Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary and Zoo:
A beautiful wildlife sanctuary, located about twenty minutes drive from here. This sanctuary is also considered to be one of the best birding destinations in Goa. It has a Zoological Park too.
Malayan Night Heron, Cinnamon Bittern, Rufous-bellied Eagle, Amur Falcon, Red Spurfowl, Grey Junglefowl, Nilgiri Wood Pigeon, Grey-fronted Green-Pigeon, Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Vernal Hanging-Parrot, Malabar Parakeet, Blue-faced Malkoha, Sri Lanka Bay Owl, Ceylon Frogmouth, Jungle Nightjar, Jerdon’s Nightjar, Malabar Trogan, Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Blue-eared Kingfisher, Malabar Grey Hornbill, White-cheeked Barbet, White-bellied Woodpecker, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Forest Wagtail, Grey-headed Bulbul, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Wynaad Laughingthrush, Hill Myna, Little Spiderhunter etc.
